Location: Whitsunday Islands
We woke up at 7:00 this morning for a full day packed with fun activities. We had breakfast and then got ready for a two-hour sail to Whitehaven Beach. The sail was full of thrills, as the boat heeled over several times, scaring some of us (Sofi and I). After the sail, we packed up our things and got ready to take the dinghy over to the beach. We hiked a trail up to a lookout point, and we saw the beautiful landscape across Whitsunday Island. Next, we walked down to the beach for a stroll across one of the whitest beaches we’ve ever seen. Later in the day, we found a secluded beach in which there was less wind and no people. We drew pigs in the sand and did a competition to see who could draw the biggest one. When the sun finally came out, everybody did the Polar Plunge and ran into the freezing water, being careful not to step on any stingrays. After leaving the beach, we motored over to Nara Inlet and watched Finding Dory on the way over. After the movie, we had snacks up on deck and talked until it was time for dinner. Overall we had a great day and one that I’m sure we’ll all remember.
