Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda

Although we had the opportunity to wake up at a later time today, none of us took it, and most people woke up by around 7:10 am. Some of us joined Em for an early morning workout on top of the boat, which was a great way to get energized for the day. For breakfast, we raised anchor and ate yogurt and bagels (with cream cheese, peanut butter, and jelly as toppings) while on the way to Road Town, where some people got their Day 4 Covid test. Before they left, we all took some time for boat appreciation (a deep cleaning of the boat). We cleaned the cabins, heads (bathrooms), salon, galley, and the aft cockpit with bleach and disinfectant wipes. While in the marina, the boat received an engine check. Then, the people needing Covid tests went into town and took a taxi to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, everyone back on the boat played card games, braided hair, and prepared lunch (sandwiches and cereal). After eating, we prepared the boat to go on a sail. We raised the mainsail and jib. We made our way to Savannah Bay on Virgin Gorda. During the sail, many of us took turns steering the boat and keeping it on course. We arrived and went to work lowering the anchor. Our anchor windlass malfunctioned, so with a bunch of teamwork we put our backup anchor down instead. Next, we took our saltwater showers, and some people got very excited about the jellyfish and took out their goggles for the shower. Then, we sat down for dinner with our party lights around the table and ate beef stroganoff, salad, garlic bread, and pineapple (the pineapple was reallyyyy good). After eating, we did clean up and sat around the table for a science talk about islands. Today was a wonderful day!

XOXO, #seis
