Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke

Today we woke up and sailed from Marina Cay to Jost Van Dyke. When we arrived, we ate lunch and then split up into our Preserving Paradise and Rebuilding Island Life groups. The Preserving Paradise group spent the afternoon learning about various types of seagrass and then had the opportunity to gather data on the seagrass off the shore of the island. After that, the Preserving Paradise group went snorkeling in hopes of finding lionfish. Although none were spotted, we saw a lot of other cool fish and coral. The Rebuilding Island Life group started their first day of multiple day projects. They spent the day putting primer on two houses, and they hope to put primer and paint more houses in the next couple of days.
