Location: La Finca and Market
The students spent another day at La Finca continuing their service projects, and they also had visitors. A group of children were brought to La Finca from La Carpio. The students interacted and played with the kids as well as helped some of them learn to swim in the pool. After the children returned to La Carpio, the students ate lunch and returned to their service projects. Within two days, the students started and finished several projects such as planting and expanding the garden, painting and building compost turbines. Once the projects were finished, the students spent the evening exploring the cultural market to buy souvenirs and to see the inner city of Costa Rica. The instructors let us roam around the market. We went to a cool flea market and walked down one of the main pedestrian streets of San Jose. There is a rich culture and plenty to learn in the city.
