Location: West End, Tortola
Our lovely shipmates are arriving here on the beautiful dock at West End, and Elliot, Jamie and I could not be more excited! We’ve spent the past few days giving our vessel a thorough tidy up, completely restocked our cabinets with food, medical supplies, copious amounts of cleaning supplies and all the equipment that’s specific to Lifeworks. With our Lifeworks flag is proudly flying, we are officially ready for all our shipmates to arrive. The staff we have aboard Kes Kat is fantastic, to say the least- we have Elliot as our skipper and myself and Jamie as mates. This is going to be an amazing session, and I cannot wait for it to begin!
Here is an introduction to the crew of Kes Kat: Elliot: Skipper Elliot was born in Southern California and has since lived in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida, where he currently resides. While a student at New College of Florida, Elliot spent his spring semester with Sea|mester and sailed throughout the Caribbean on S/Y Argo. Elliot joined ActionQuest in 2011 and works as a captain and program director with both the ActionQuest and Lifeworks BVI programs. Elliot loves traveling and meeting new people and is ecstatic to have a profession that allows him to do both. Jamie: EMT/Mate Jamie was raised in Colorado, but now attends Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where she studies Marine Biology. She is an avid scuba diver and traveler, and recently returned from 3 months in India. She’s a National Registry EMT and is a PADI Emergency First Response Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor. Along with sailing, diving, and volunteering, Jamie enjoys photography, snowboarding and spending time with her three dogs. Alex: Divemaster/Mate Alex is an 18-year-old Divemaster and IYT Flotilla Skipper from Washington, DC. She is a sophomore at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina where she is a Communications major. This is her 5th summer at ActionQuest and being a staff member here has been her goal since she was fourteen.
