Location: Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today both groups started by getting a briefing on the specific procedure of how to catch, record data, and tag sea turtles in Savannah bay. After the briefing, we looked for them by holding on to wakeboard lines and snorkeling. Macy caught the first and only turtle today, it was pretty big and also very nervous. After collecting data on the turtle, and tagging it on both flippers, we gently put it back in the water and watched it swim away. After lunch, we went snorkeling again looking for lionfish to mark the territory since they are invasive animals. Tonight was also the barbecue, and it was fun, and we all ate good food.
