Location: Xi'an
The main focus of today was the Terracotta Warriors. Our first stop was the Xi’an Art Ceramics and Lacquer Company where we learned about how the warriors are made, as well as the different materials they were made of.
From there, we went to see three different sites where the Terracotta Warriors were found. With the help of our tour guide Daniel, we learned many interesting facts such as…. the meaning of different colors on the warriors’ clothes were and how the different stances of the warriors mattered.
We also went to an art museum where we learned about Chinese culture through paintings, pottery and 3-D art. We also got to practice Calligraphy which we all had a blast trying. We are sad to leave Xi’an, but are excited about our future experiences in Beijing these coming weeks!
