Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to Internet over the course of the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Please do not call our office regarding these blogs, as the office does not control the postings or the content of the updates. Thanks very much for your understanding!
Day 1 (July 14): Fly day
Day 2 (July 15): Student arrival in Bangkok; Rest/downtime after hotel check in
Day 3 (July 16): Lifeworks orientation; Bangkok sightseeing and city tour
Day 4 (July 17): Morning introduction to the Duang Prateep Foundation (DPF); Klong Toey walking tour; Afternoon departure for the New Life Project, Kanchanburi Province
Day 5 to 9 (July 18 to 22): Service days at the DPF New Life Project (Kanchanburi Province); Activities include teaching English, leading sports activities for youth, rice planting/farming, arts/crafts activities, youth/school projects, cultural exchanges, elephant trekking, Krasae cave and Saiyoknoi waterfall tours, Loy Krathong demonstration, and more; Return to Bangkok
Day 10 to 11 (July 23 to 24): Klong Toey Youth Development Project; Cultural exchanges and excursion to the Pine Resort, Samkhok District
Day 12 (July 25): Continue Bangkok sightseeing; Student rest and downtime
Day 13 (July 26): DPF Kindergarten Project including parade walk through the community, traditional Thai sports and visit to local children’s home
Day 14 to 15 (July 27 to 28): Elder Citizen Project including home visits in the Klong Toey; Elder and student field trip to the Nong Nooch Garden, Sattahip District
Day 16 to 17 (July 29 to 30): Community service work (repair playground and garden at Phet Siam Children Center Community); Thai culture activities
Day 18 (July 31): Thai life and cooking project/demonstration
Day 19 (August 1): Renovation of the playground equipment at Rimklongrongmu Community, Flat 23-24
Day 20 (August 2): Lifeworks and DPF closing activities; Farewell party
Day 21 (August 3): Bangkok shopping; Fly day
