Today we went snorkeling in the morning. The seas were pretty rough, but it was ok because we saw a manta ray and LOTS of sea lions! We swam out to a rock where there is usually sharks, and some of the group was lucky enough to see one in the distance. Later in the afternoon, we went hiking, and for the first time we were able to get up close and personal with the blue-footed boobies and observed the albatrosses. The guide taught us the difference between the male and female boobies. The females are larger, and they honk, whereas the males whistle. We also got to visit a blow hole where the ocean spits up into the air through a hole in the rocks when the waves come into shore. I have taken many awesome pictures, and I am excited to show them off. The hike was a peaceful end to another eventful day. I can’t wait to explore more of the Galapagos tomorrow!
