Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke
We began our day on Guana Island with snorkeling to search for turtles. We were pulled on a line behind the boat to look for sea turtles, and we also got another chance to see the beautiful coral and fish in the clear blue water of the Caribbean. Our sail to our next turtling spot, Brewers Bay, was full of picturesque views and eventually rain. We continued looking for turtles, and although we were unsuccessful in finding any today, we still saw beautiful coral and fish. We then sailed to Jost Van Dyke, the third most populated island in the BVI. We learned about the service project we will begin tomorrow, which is monitoring seagrass beds. We learned the procedure of recording the data on the beach today so that we could be fully prepared to complete this procedure in the water tomorrow. Next, we had time to explore the shops on the beach to buy jewelry, t-shirts, and ice cream. We ended the day on a very positive note, filled with excitement for the next six days we will spend in this beautiful place and a continuing desire to make the most of our time here.
