Location: Sydney

We started off our day with breakfast at the hostel. From there, we took the train to the Sydney Opera House. We toured the opera house, going into each of the two theaters. Along the way, our tour guide explained to us how each of the buildings are different and have different acoustics for different types of shows. We also learned about the construction of the exterior, the glass walls, and the special ceramic tiles that keep it clean and shiny on the outside. After the tour, we climbed the Sydney Harbor bridge pylon, where we were able to see the best view of the opera house and the surrounding area. Then, around lunchtime, we all ate together at a cool outdoor restaurant. After lunch, we were given free time to explore the shops and markets. For dinner, we stopped for supplies to make pasta and salad at the hotel. We are excited to head to a new destination tomorrow – sailing in the Whitsunday Islands!
