Location: Whitsunday Islands
Today, we woke up early to catch two flights to Airlie Beach, the main harbor of the Whitsunday Islands. We ate a light breakfast and had to quickly rally to make PBandJ’s for the flight. Then we caught a bus to make it to the airport. Our first flight was from Sydney to Brisbane, and after a rocky landing, we exited the plane. Luckily, we had the same gate to depart to Proserpine. Otherwise, we might have missed our flight due to our short layover. After we landed, we saw a cool fish tank in the waiting room – it seemed well cared for and was vibrant with colors. When we got our baggage, we had to catch a bus. During the ride to the harbor, we saw kangaroos, cattle, and sugar cane fields. Finally getting to the harbor, we enjoyed pizza, thanks to the captain of the boat, and took a walk around town, got ice cream, and enjoyed some swings to end the day. We are excited about sailing tomorrow!
