Today we had a chance to sleep in until 8 o’clock due to a very hard working day before. We started the day with some excellent pancakes made personally by Elliot. Following a relaxing morning, Elliot presented us with a variety of videos focusing on the different types of plastics and how they affect the ocean. After the videos, we took a short hike to a beach where we found a large salt pond and did a small trash pick up. When we returned to the boat, we were so anxious about the upcoming mac and cheese that we left Anna behind by accident. After our delicious lunch, Elliot explained the process of tagging turtles, and we left in three different boats to look for turtles. After about an hour of searching, we spotted a turtle but failed to catch it. On the way back to the boat, we found an artificial reef, which was created by an old ship. After returning, we took some very refreshing ocean showers. For dinner, beef stroganoff was served, which was very delicious. Overall, it was a well-deserved relaxing day, which will prepare us for a great day tomorrow, which will consist of hard work.
