Location: Posada de Belen
Today we were lucky enough to spend an entire day at a place called Posada de Belen. It’s a non-profit facility where young teenage mothers are provided an education and job training while they’re children are cared for in their on-site nursery. Some of the mothers were as young as twelve years old! We played with kids, who ranged from five months to five years and helped clean up around the facility. The mothers prepared a beautiful meal for all of us which included pizza, rice, putting and lemonade. Before we left, we passed out handmade angels for the young women, which had been made by the women in La Carpio, so it was extremely special. That night we all enjoyed an exciting game of soccer. It’s always a pleasure to relax and spend time with one another.
