Purchasing Travel Protection provides coverage for unexpected travel emergencies with benefits such as, but not limited to, accident & sickness medical expenses, trip delay, and trip cancellation/interruption coverage. You may also choose to purchase the optional ‘cancel for any reason’ benefit, which allows an additional degree of flexibility should your plans change before the summer. We recommend you consider purchasing the GXG Protection Plan, as this plan is available for U.S. Residents.
The GXG Protection Plan offers numerous benefits, including coverage for unexpected travel emergencies, which encompass (but are not limited to) medical emergencies, theft, or loss of passports, travel documents, or visas. In certain cases, it also provides coverage for up to 100% of non-refundable trip costs, including tuition.

What does it cover?
The GXG Protection Plan provides coverage for the following:
- Trip Cancellation – Can reimburse up to 100% of your non-refundable trip cost, including tuition, when you cancel for a covered reason such as injury, sickness, terrorist incidents, job termination, or transfer of employment of 250 miles or more.
- Optional Cancel for Any Reason Benefit – Provides reimbursement of up to 75% of the unused non-refundable payments or deposits you paid for your trip, when you cancel your trip prior to the scheduled departure date for any reason not otherwise covered by this plan provided:
1. You purchase the Cancel for Any Reason Benefit within the Time Sensitive Period; and
2. You cancel Your Trip no later than 48 hours prior to the Scheduled Departure Date of Your Trip.
You can only purchase this benefit at the time the base plan is purchased.This Cancel For Any Reason Benefit does not cover penalties associated with any air or other Travel Arrangements not provided by Global Expeditions Group | ActionQuest, Sea|mester, GoBeyond or the failure of Global Expeditions Group | ActionQuest, Sea|mester, GoBeyond to provide the bargained-for Travel Arrangements due to cessation of operations for any reason.Additional cost applies. Not available to residents of NY state. - Trip Interruption – Reimburses up to 125% of your trip cost for the unused, prepaid non-refundable payments or deposits paid for the land or water travel arrangements you purchased for your trip plus the additional transportation cost if you interrupt your trip for a covered reason.
- Accident & Sickness Medical Expense – Provides reimbursement for covered accident and sickness medical expenses incurred during your trip up to $100,000.
- Baggage and Personal Effects – Reimburses up to $1000 for damaged, lost, or stolen baggage or personal effects.
- Trip Delay – Up to $150 per day, to a maximum of $750
- Missed Connection: Up to $500
What is the cost?
The cost of the GXG Protection Plan is calculated based on a number of aspects, including:
- The length of your trip
- The total non-refundable trip cost.
- Whether you select the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit, if eligible*

How do I purchase the GXG Protection Plan?
You can purchase the GXG Protection Plan in two different ways:
- During your enrollment process– On step 4 of the enrollment application, you’ll have the option to select GXG Protection Plan, and the plan cost will be added to your trip deposit at that time.
- After application and initial deposit– While most families select travel protection at the time they initially enroll, there are opportunities to purchase at a later date. To be eligible to purchase travel protection:Travel Protection Plans may only be purchased:1. Before full tuition has been paid.
AND
2. No later than 60 days prior to the scheduled departure date of your trip, or if your Trip is initially booked within 60 days of the scheduled departure date of your Trip, your payment for the plan is received within 14 days of the initial payments or deposits for your Trip.
How do I initiate a claim with Travel Insured?

The Travel Insured Claims Team will assist you in starting your claim, and we will work with them to provide all the details about your enrollment. You’ll be able to check the status by clicking on the following link and, once the claims review has been completed and you’ve been found eligible, Travel Insured will reimburse the appropriate deposit and tuition amounts directly to you.
Residents of all other Countries & Territories
