Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
This morning, most of us woke up between 6:30 and 7:00. Aubrey left around 4:30 to go on a sunrise sail with the other Quest kids and met back up with us at breakfast. Our staff took us off the anchor while we were sleeping, and we woke up in the Baths. Lacey and Jonah cheffed us up some oatmeal and cantaloupe, and after eating, we all got ready for our excursion. We had a water entry into the Baths, and got dropped off in our dinghies right before the swim line. Everyone explored for a bit, and we found the famous jumping rock, where Toby did a backflip. With our time left, we ended up taking a little hike around the national park, before we ended up back at our first beach, where we saw a stingray and hung around talking to each other and other boats. Dive side had met up with sail side, too, so Maddie was excited to see her friends there. Once we had left the Baths, we all met back on G2BH for quick hair washes in the ocean. Scarlet became friends with a jellyfish. Today was special because we took freshwater showers with our Hibiclens soap. Once everyone had showered, we docked in Spanish Town and headed out for a few hours of shore time. The whole boat went out to lunch together, and everyone was especially excited to have some cold drinks. We went to a few stores, as well as an ice cream store, before returning to the dock.
Jonah, Toby, and Cole accidentally walked to the wrong dock, but eventually found us again. Once we left Spanish Town, we started motoring back to Mt. Pt. before we decided to hoist our sails. We had to take our dinghy off when docking, so Luke drove out of the marina and met us once we were underway again. Lacey and Atlin sweated the halyard, Cole brought in the slack, and then helped trim the sails. While we headed back to Mt. Pt., Will taught Liv, Scarlet, Aubrey, Toby, and Jonah knots while Siena taught Cole, Kate, Leah, Atlin, Lacey, and Maddie. We also ended up bringing out our head sail, so we were flying with a high and low side. Eventually, we got back to our anchorage, and Jonah and Lacey started on our dinner of rice and chili, which we had with cheese, onions, peppers, and sour cream. Will was missing his condiments, so he got us a plastic bag of ketchup and hot sauce from another boat. Now we are planning on making some brookies later, and the Vega kids have a sail chat. Everyone is hoping to play our new favorite card game as well, which Atlin and Lacey brought for us. Tomorrow is very exciting for all of us, and we are all looking forward to what is next!
