Today, we woke up bright and early to get started on our long day in the greenhouse. We had a quick breakfast and then headed straight to work. Once we got there, we were split into groups to all work on different projects at once. Issy, Rai, Josalyn, Leora, and I all got to help one of the greenhouse workers, Rex, who had an amazing music taste, paint rocks for outside of the greenhouse. It was super fun but also super messy with all of the paint we got on our hands. At one point, Issy and I painted both of her hands since they were covered in paint. We had the incredible opportunity to meet Iceland’s Forrest Gump, Reynir Pétur Ingvarsson, the man who walked around the entire country in 32 days to raise money for the eco-village back in 1985. He played his harmonica for us and was so fun to talk to.

After a quick and delicious snack break, we got back to work. The guys were doing most of the “dirty” work, such as weeding, raking, and picking the tomato plants, with the help of Maren, Lindsey, and Kimmi. The head of the greenhouse gave me the job of painting tomatoes on their sign as well as painting boxes for the garden. After some time, we headed to lunch, which was not sandwiches! It was this amazing pasta with lamb meatballs, salad, and pesto. We all got back to work for a bit, then decided to head back to the hostel early to relax and chill. Some of the girls and I went shopping at the cafe (I got an owl, a big shocker), then sprinted to the trampoline and hung out there for a bit. Some of us also went swimming in the pool, which was so nice and refreshing. We headed back to the house for an amazing chicken dinner cooked by our personal chef, Leora, and cookies to follow. As the day is finishing, we are packing our bags back up for our long travel day tomorrow. I don’t even remember how I got everything to fit into my bag the first time! All in all, it was such an incredible day with equally incredible people. Miss you, Mom and Dad, and give Ridley lots of love for me! Love Olivia
