Today, we woke up at 7:30 to have lots of time to eat breakfast. I sat with Rai, Issy, Maren, Olivia, Josalyn, and Leora and enjoyed my delicious meal. Afterward, we loaded up onto the bus for a quick ride to the stables, where we planned to ride the famous Icelandic horses! There were lots of animals in the barn. We saw a cat, three dogs and obviously a lot of horses. The lady at the barn was really nice and got us all fitted to ride. My horse’s name was Albert, and he was so pretty. Some of the horses listened to their riders, but some didn’t. Kai and Kyle’s horses would always veer off into the grass to snack whenever they wanted, which was very funny to watch.
After a fun walk around, we drove back to eat lunch and get ready for service. We had sandwiches for lunch again, and while they are good, it is getting a bit repetitive. After, we helped out at the greenhouse for a few hours by picking a lot of the weeds that were invading the garden beds and tilling the soil. Everyone needed to shower after that, as we got super muddy. Dinner was spaghetti with garlic bread and salad, followed by a cake baked by Olivia and Maren! It was all very good after working in the hot greenhouse for a long time. We then watched a movie called The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which people had mixed opinions about, but most thought it was pretty good. We then played games till bedtime to wake up at eight tomorrow. -Nick
