Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Anna B. and I woke up in the cabin to music per usual, and as she helped prepare breakfast with Griffin, disaster essentially struck as we realized the red light in the bathroom meant that the tank was full. Discussion regarding this issue and about how we had already finished a water tank progressed and extended our breakfast of cereal to an hour and a half, making us a little late to school. After breakfast and clean up, we rushed to the school again to finish the work. Surya, Morgan, Anna S., and Shaila were painting the pallets as Elle, Liam, Chris, Ava, and I helped move the pallets and fill them with mulch and dirt, and everyone helped clear all the area. After finishing, we took the dingy (Lava) back to the boat and quickly changed to jump into the water to cool down and clean some dirt off before we headed to the Baths. The Baths were amazing, and the caves were gorgeous. We were able to go to a cliff where we all jumped off (Surya, Lily, and Anna B. were able to overcome their fear of jumping and eventually made it, while Liam and Griffin did multiple backflips off the cliff). We then spent some time at a nearby beach, and I had some great conversations with Elle, Ava, Griffin, Chris, and Shaila.
When we decided it was almost time to return to the boat, everyone decided to go to the restroom, and in the chaos, Shaila, Anna B., Lily, and Liam got separated from the group as they decided to return to Devil’s Bay where we started, but no one was there yet. As we didn’t know they were there, Ava, Chris, Griffin, Elle, and I decided to go with Annie back to Devil’s Bay while Benzi stayed with Surya, Anna S., and Morgan, waiting for the four that were missing. When we got to Devil’s Bay, we found the four were gone, and Annie had to go back to find Benzi to tell her that they were found. Almost as soon as she left, Benzi also came back, and somehow, they both missed each other. One group decided to go back on the boat as the rest waited for Annie to return. When the dingy went back, the rest of the kids got into it, and Benzi waited on shore. As soon as the dingy decided to leave, Annie returned to shore. Once we all got on the boat, we headed to Savanna Bay. Once we reached Savannah Bay, Riley and Kris fixed our full tank situation. Around half an hour later we started to shower and Shaila and I decided to fix our wet mattress that was stinking up our cabin and brought it outside to dry. We then went to shower. We still had to wipe down the wet wood, and in an attempt to properly clean it, Surya used some bleach. Somehow 1/3 of the bottle of bleach was poured into our cabin. We were all extremely happy as it was removing the musty smell until our faces and eyes started to burn slightly, and we had to run out of there. The next hour and a half were spent airing out the room as some relaxed, and Anna and Griffey made our dinner of cheese and broccoli pasta. Kris also went and fixed our cabin with a scuba mask and a sun buff. We then had dinner and squeeze and spent some time trying to videotape the fish around us as others cleaned. We are now talking on the roof and watching the stars before we go to bed.
Miss you all so much, chakara umma!
