Location: La Finca
This morning we woke up at 8 and had breakfast before leaving for La Finca at 9. La Finca is a rural getaway for people from La Carpio, one of the lowest income cities in Costa Rica. At La Finca, we were assigned the two jobs of cementing the driveway and cleaning up the yard/garden. We completed about half of the driveway, and we collected many branches and left to throw away in the river. To collect the branches, we placed them in a tarp (aka el plastico) and carried them to the river where we dumped it over the fence. “El Plastico was the MVP and es muy fuerte,” said huge fans Lucy and Kathryn. We then ate lunch at a restaurant before returning and continuing to work until 4.
