Hello friends, family, and random people on the internet. Today was my last day with the only person who really understands me: the five-year-old girl in the older kids’ room. Sure, we’ve never really exchanged a full conversation, but the strength of the human connection overpowers any words we could ever say. Sniffle. Nothing made us feel better than the chewy, sweet, wonderful (and only a little bit floury) mochi balls. So we had twenty. Long story short: it was a VERY emotional day. Some people cried, other people packed…Somehow, we all boarded the 7:45 train to Beijing, starting the final chapter of our adventure.
