Location: Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda
Today we woke up, ate oatmeal for breakfast and began motoring over to Spanish Town. After a quick dinghy trip to the dock, we got on taxis and headed to Coppermine National Park for two beach cleanups. The first beach was gorgeous and filled with huge rocks that we were able to explore and climb around. We then walked over to the second beach, which had much more garbage, so we walked up and down the beach collecting bottles, fishing lines, and other trash. When we were done, we sat down and learned about the seven different kinds of plastic, like high-density polyethylene. After our work, we got our phones back for our first town day! We had a great lunch at Shay Bamboo while struggling with spotty Wi-Fi to get in touch with our friends and family. My favorite part of the day was probably eating my chicken Caesar salad wrap. We headed back to the boat after ice cream and some shopping to go to the Baths. We walked through caves created by huge rocks to get to a beautiful beach surrounded by boulders. When we got back to our boat, we started taking fresh-water showers and preparing dinner. Tonight, we are having a mini barbecue on Catalinaville with grilled veggie burgers and mashed potatoes! It’s fun going to the other boat because we get to interact with a different group of people and make more new friends.
