Hello from Hope! Today started out with an impromptu spelling bee while Addy and Case struggled to make pancakes for breakfast. After breakfast, we all said goodbye to Elly, which was very sad, but we’re all glad she’s doing what’s best for her. Today was a rare day when we were all able to go to shore. Maeve and I went to work on a farm all day while everyone else had free time in the town near where we docked. At the farm, we started out by shoveling compost and sifting it to get dirt that can be used in the garden. We learned a lot about the carbon that comes from traditional fields that are plowed, traditional farming methods, and what it means to grow your own food. It was all super cool and interesting, but the highlight of Maeve’s experience there was a “literally life-changing “ mango she got to pick and eat fresh. We also got to carve calabashes (cal-a-baa-sh) with some children local to the BVI who were also at the farm that day. On the way back, we saw two groups of flamingos and got pizza, which Maeve says is the best she’s ever had. Back in town, Reese got to hold a cat, and everyone had very, very delicious food together at a local restaurant for lunch. Addy was disappointed that the grocery store did not carry ANY toblerone, but she and Stella got really cute matching shirts. Kiaan is telling me that today he did “literally nothing“. Gray got a cupping at the spa on shore, and now he has big purple circles on his back. Henry watched Charlie get a deep tissue massage. Henry was also very, very proud of the SunBum monkey he got that wasn’t even for sale. Chase got to climb a tree and grab a coconut. It’s now sitting in our fruit basket, and we’re all hoping he will share. Back in the water, Charlie went free diving and got his personal best, which is super exciting. He also mysteriously developed a lisp that drives our staff crazy. All in all, today was jam-packed full of fun for everyone, and we can’t wait for tomorrow. We all miss you very much and look forward to seeing you soon.
