Location: Quito - Galapagos
Today we awoke to a 4:00 am alarm clock. From the hostel we headed to the Quito airport, too tired to show our excitement for the Galapagos. Once on the plane we all fell back asleep for some much needed rest before our arrival. After a three hour plane ride we were in the Galapagos… But we weren’t done traveling. We took a bus to a water taxi, then got on another bus which took us to our boat. Finally we arrived at our boat the Amigo! Some of us felt a little seasick as we adjusted to our new home for the next four days. We all felt better when we had the chance to go back to shore and visit the Charles Darwin research center. We saw tortoises, iguanas and sally lightfoot crabs. We then had some time to tour the town and buy a few snacks. As we headed back to the boat we saw our first sea lion and punta negra shark! We had dinner on board and were introduced to the crew before heading to bed for some much needed sleep to explore the Galapagos in the upcoming days!
