Location: Spanish Town

Today was our first day of service projects on the island! We woke up early and had yogurt and bagels for breakfast before heading to the dock. We worked in a garden at a local school in Virgin Gorda for a youth outreach project. We put up fences, pulled out weeds, and tidied up the area. After a few hours, we stopped for lunch, which was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and then we fed some tortoises and spotted some chickens. Prentice tried and failed to catch a chicken with his lunch but Grace got a nice cute flick (which you can see below). After lunch, Grace, Augusta, and I dug some nice holes to plant grape trees, and we put up trellises to support the grape vines and the passion fruit growing in the garden. We all got to taste some fresh sugar cane. We were all happy to have a bathroom on land and some cold, fresh water. After we finished up, we headed to get some ice cream which was very yummy. We took the dinghy back to the boat and jumped in the water to clean up and cool off. After that, Hayes and Violet made beef stroganoff with garlic bread and salad for dinner, and we settled in for a chill evening after clean up. Prentice and Addison washed the dishes, Grace cleaned off the deck, and everyone else tidied up. BYE!
