Below is our anticipated schedule of activities. The group will have limited access to the internet over the course of the program. While we understand families are eager for news, we ask for patience as our staff’s energy is focused on the students and the program at hand. Please do not call our office regarding these trip logs, as the office does not control the postings or the content of the updates. Thanks very much for your understanding!
Day 1 (July 15) – Dallas to Lima – Students meet in the Dallas airport at the departure gate to Lima; Overnight flight to Lima
Day 2 (July 16) – Lima to Cuzco – Early morning flight to Cuzco; Student orientation, rest, and short city tour
Day 3 (July 17) – Cuzco – Community service day and orientation at Casa Mantay (home for adolescent mothers)
Day 4 (July 18) – Cuzco – Morning Cuzco scavenger hunt; Afternoon Saxywoman and Tambomatchy Horseback Tour
Day 5 to 7 (July 19 to 21) – Cuzco – Community service days at Casa Mantay and the Santa Theresa orphanage; Cuzco exploration and cultural activities
Day 8 (July 22) – Cuzco to Urubamba – Pisaq tour, llama farm, market visit, and mountain biking in the Urubamba Valley
Day 9 (July 23) – Urubamba to Ollantaytambo – Stand-up paddle boarding (Piuray Lagoon), yoga, and Chinchero textile workshop demonstration
Day 10 to 11 (July 24 to 25) – Ollantaytambo – Community service days with MySmallHelp charity organization (construction and work with kids)
Day 12 to 15 (July 26 to 29) – “On trail” – Laras Trek and camping excursion
Day 16 (July 30) – Ollantaytambo – Huerto Paraiso tour (coffee, chocolate, beekeeping, pottery demonstrations)
Day 17 to 18 (July 31 to August 1) – Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu excursion including shopping and hot springs visit
Day 19 (August 2) – Ollantaytambo – Whitewater rafting excursion; Return to Cuzco and beginning of closing program
Day 20 (August 3) – Ollantaytambo to Lima – Transfer to Lima; GoBeyond closing program activities and final dinner
Day 21 (August 4) – Lima to home – Fly day
