Location: Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda
We had a full day under the sun today, starting bright and early with some yogurt and bagels for breakfast. Right after we ate, we sailed over to Spanish Town and took a taxi ride to the Copper Mine where we saw an old abandoned copper mine decorated with bright blue oxidized rocks, which was super cool. We were even given a chance to test our climbing skills on some large rocks surrounding the mine by the ocean and watch the waves crash up against them. After exploring the Copper Mine, we moved right into a productive beach cleanup and learned all about plastic and how the seven different kinds affect the environment. After our hard work, we were treated to a fun afternoon with time on shore to drink some ice-cold water and talk to family and friends. The day finished with a bang when we went over to The Baths, a famous destination in the BVI’s. Everyone had an amazing time jumping off rocks into the crystal clear water and exploring the pools and boulders. By the end of the day, everyone was wiped out from all the sun and activities; it was a fun and eventful day for the Lifeworks team.
