Location: San Cristobal, The Galapagos
Today was day 5 of our adventure! We woke up at 7:30 for a quick breakfast and then left for the National Park for our second day of volunteer work in the forest! We braved the rain and set to work cutting invasive species with machetes! After 2 hours of hard work, we took a quick break and ate a picnic lunch. We then returned to do a few more hours of cutting trees (invasive species, of course.) and getting lots of scratches from the briars. Around 3, we went back to the hostel to relax and take showers. Later we went to watch a movie about the Galapagos; it was very educational and interesting. Finally, we went out to a yummy local restaurant, where we were all exhausted and starving after our long day of hard work. We then returned to the hostel for an early bedtime, all very excited for our snorkeling adventure awaiting us tomorrow!
