Location: Galapagos Islands

After days of brutal winds and currents, the crew woke up to the glass like water and heat. As we walked down to eat breakfast, everyone was fascinated by the Galapagos sharks swimming right next to the boat. After breakfast, we took the panga out to an island where we went on a trail to see the saltwater lagoons that were being inhabited by beautiful pink flamingos. To see how fragile these creatures are was amazing. After burying Hamzha in the sand, we ventured back to the boat for a chilly swim before disembarking to our next location. Once we arrived at the next island, we hiked a more rocky trail to see land iguanas. It was pretty funny to watch one chase Jaesohn and scare him half to death. Everyone was dripping sweat which was a huge change from everyone shivering the night before. Dinner was, of course, amazing as always but I don’t think I have ever been so excited to see ice cream come towards me for dessert in my life. We moved to yet another island, and now we are enjoying our last night on the boat by watching the pelicans and sea lions. I am so excited to start the community service work down here in the Galapagos National Park.
