Location: Great Harbor, Jost van Dyke
Day 13 began with both boats of GoBeyond students joining forces to finish up the painting projects started yesterday, by the Rebuilding Island Life team. The goal for the morning was to add the finishing touches to two different houses and to paint the exterior of a beachfront restaurant. From our extensive painting experience in the BVI, everyone knew that the heat would only grow more intense as the morning went on, so it was understood that we had to work fast. Sure enough, we were able to finish up all three projects by noon. We even got to sneak in a little ice cream break before heading back to the boats! The second half of our day consisted of me sailing Some Beez from Jost Van Dyke to the west end of Tortola, and then finally to Peter Island. I have never sailed a boat before, so learning how to steer into the wind watch the sail was cool. Between getting to know BVI locals and jamming out to Abba while sailing, today was a true adventure
